Moses

Public Intervention, 2008

Video-Loop, DV (1:40)

Video of a public intervention. Shown at Glas Moog Gallery, Cologne.

The “Hohe Strasse” in Cologne leads right to the Cologne Cathedral and is one of the most frequented shopping streets in Germany.

There, i payed homage to the biblical character Moses who parted the Red Sea in the Book of Exodus – walking forward, away from the camera with arms stretched out (thus forming a cross).
The performance and recording was stopped after a few minutes by local authorities.

Thanks to Therese Schuleit and Hannes Wöhrle.
